For decades I’ve had an addiction to quotes. I use them in writing, speaking, conversation, and correspondence. I’ve cluttered my life with quotes in and on scraps of paper, filled journals, file folders, data-bases, the back of napkins, and inumerable electronic files. Certainly quotes are useful. The right quote illustrates a point, helps to set a tone, and can illuminate the expression of our own thoughts.
And they elicit our emotions. The immortal words of our predecessors and our contemporaries, quoted or misquoted, cause us to laugh and cause us to cry, they make us angry and they make us thoughtful, they evoke memories and they engender vision.
The bottom line though for me is that quotations bring me joy.

I will share some here with you and I invite you to share some wiith me. If you do, I may post them.

I also welcome your input if you see a quote mis-attributed here or have other feedback. If you’d like to be in touch, our email is weallquote@gmail.com
